Class 15 Floral Exhibits

Plants dug out of the garden and silk or artificial flowers are ineligible. Accessories may be used where stated. Please make sure that entry tickets are securely attached to containers only.

Note: Not responsible for loss or damage

Definitions:

Bloom - an individual flower, one to a stem, do not leave buds showing.

Collection - minimum of three different varieties.

Display - may be one or more varieties.

Spike - a thick upright stem carrying several flowers.

Spray - a portion of the plant with a number of flowers on one stem.

Stem - may have one or more flowers and buds.

Prizes for Nos. 1 – 33 - 1st - $5, 2nd - $4, 3rd - $3

Potted Plants

Pots may contain more than one plant per unless otherwise indicated

  1. African Violet, double bloom
  2. Begonia, (fibrous) Bizzy Lizzy
  3. Fern, any type
  4. Cacti or succulent

Cut Flowers

(Flowers are judged, not container, cut flowers must be grown by exhibitor)

  2. Cosmos, 8 stems, may be mixed colours
  3. Marigold, French, 3 stems
  4. Marigold, African, 3 stems
  5. Gladiola, 3 spikes, may be different colours

  8. Hosta, one leaf, variegated

Design Division - Please attach tags to bottom of design

  1. "Harvest time", design using dried “grains” and flowers in a suitable container
  2. “Green with Envy”, using foliage only
  3. “Small is Beautiful”, miniature arrangement (under 4”) overall
  4. “Coffee Time”, flowers arranged in a coffee cup
  5. “Teacher’s Pet”, Arrangement for a special teacher
  6. “Surprise”, Assortment of flowers in a mason jar
